Overview
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, Teflon) jacket per MIL-W-16878. Lowest dielectric constant of the practical wire insulators (2.1 vs PVC’s 3.5), highest temperature rating (260°C). Adds cost but reduces dielectric absorption.
Typical uses
- studio microphone cables
- tonearm wire
- high-end interconnects
