Overview
Linear power supply with a toroidal transformer, discrete LM317 regulator, and 47,000 µF of output filter capacitance. Replaces the switching-mode wall-wart that ships with most desktop DACs and headphone amps with a much-cleaner 12 V / 3 A rail.
Audible difference depends on the powered device: noise-sensitive DACs and low-noise headphone amps benefit measurably (often 5–10 dB lower noise floor in the audible band), while high-power Class D devices benefit very little.
Standard barrel connector (5.5 / 2.1 mm); polarity selectable. Pairs with the integrated DAC + amp when the stock SMPS is the system noise floor.
