Subwoofer Isolation Platform

Subwoofer-specific isolation platform: a 450 × 450 × 60 mm platform with constrained-layer damping rated for 70 kg of subwoofer mass. Decouples the sub cabinet from suspended-wood floors that would otherwise transmit low-frequency energy into the room structure (and the neighbors).

Practical benefit: bass extension and definition both improve when the sub stops energizing the floor as a giant secondary radiator. Roughly equivalent improvement to moving a sub 30 cm out from the wall.

Discrete enough for living-room use; the platform sits 60 mm above the floor.
