Overview
Inline USB filter that strips switching-power-supply noise from the 5 V bus rail. Uses a multi-stage LC π-filter (common-mode choke + capacitor banks) targeting the 10 kHz–10 MHz noise band that USB host controllers inject into bus-powered DACs.
Different from a ground-loop isolator: this device passes the ground reference through unchanged but conditions the +5 V rail. Useful when the DAC is bus-powered and the host is a noisy laptop or a USB hub.
Stack with the ground-loop isolator when both ground-loop and bus-rail-noise problems coexist. Pairs well with dongle DACs and bus-powered desktop DACs.
