Overview

Reference-class open-back planar magnetic headphone built around a 97 mm thin-film diaphragm with a printed-trace voice coil in a planar magnet array. The bilateral magnet structure produces an evenly-driven piston across the full diaphragm surface, which is what gives planar magnetics their characteristic 0.06% THD and extraordinarily fast transients.

Detachable cable termination uses dual 3.5 mm TRS sockets at the cups — the de-facto planar-headphone standard. Ships with three modular source plugs (4.4 mm Pentaconn balanced, 4-pin XLR balanced, 6.35 mm single-ended) so it pairs equally well with the portable DAP and the desktop reference amp.

Drive requirement: 32 Ω impedance, 94 dB/mW sensitivity — needs roughly 500 mW of clean current for 110 dB peaks with 10 dB of headroom. See our headphone-amp matching guide for the math.
