Overview
Adapter mapping a 4.4 mm Pentaconn female receptacle to a 4-pin Neutrik XLR male connector. Maps L+/L−/R+/R− 1:1 onto XLR pins 1–4 per the de-facto headphone wiring (pin 1 = L+, 2 = L−, 3 = R+, 4 = R−); the 4.4 mm shield pin is grounded to the XLR shell only.
The bridge between portable balanced (4.4 mm) and desktop balanced (4-pin XLR). Especially useful for headphone users who want one cable that works across both ecosystems — terminate the headphone cable in 4.4 mm and add this adapter when desktop is needed.
