Overview
DSD256 at 11.2896 MHz. Quad-rate DSD pushes noise-shaped quantization further above the audible band and reduces the modulation distortion that affects DSD64 in the 25–40 kHz range.
Native DSD256 recording is the working format of choice for analog-to-DSD transfers (vinyl, master tape) where the sample-rate headroom matters. Native commercial DSD256 catalog is limited but growing.
Compare with DSD512 for the next step up. Supported natively by the integrated DAC + amp and the desktop reference DAC.
