Overview
Cable construction technique, not a material: each individual strand inside a multi-strand bundle is independently insulated, and the strands are woven in a precise pattern so that each occupies every cross-section position equally along the cable length.
Eliminates the proximity-effect losses that ordinary stranded conductors suffer above ~10 kHz, where neighboring strands concentrate the current at the strand-pair contact points instead of distributing it across the full strand cross-section. The audible result is improved top-octave detail in cables longer than ~50 cm.
Used in every premium IEM and headphone cable in the catalog including the OCC copper IEM cable, the monocrystal silver cable and the OCC headphone cable.
Typical uses
- high-end IEM cables
- headphone cables
- tonearm internal wire
