Overview
Single-crystal copper produced by the Ohno Continuous Cast process — a quenched-mold casting technique that produces conductor lengths with grain boundaries occurring at meters of length rather than millimeters. The reduced grain-boundary count audibly improves transient response in cables of any meaningful length.
Conductivity is approximately 101.5% IACS — marginally better than OFC, but the audible improvements are dominated by the grain-boundary geometry rather than the bulk conductivity. Premium IEM cables, headphone cables and audiophile speaker cable.
The conductor of choice for the OCC copper IEM cable and the OCC headphone cable. Premium over OFC copper at roughly 3× cost.
Typical uses
- premium headphone cables
- premium IEM upgrade cables
- tonearm wire
