Overview
Wide-bore silicone tips with an inner bore of approximately 5.5 mm, designed to preserve treble energy on IEMs whose upper-midrange and lower-treble would otherwise be damped by a standard tip. The wider opening reduces high-frequency reflections inside the nozzle-to-eardrum air column, perceptually opening the soundstage and improving cymbal articulation.
Trade-off: shallower insertion and less sub-bass reinforcement than a deeper-seal narrow-bore tip. The right tip for warm-tuned IEMs that need a little more sparkle; the wrong tip for already-bright IEMs that need taming.
Often the right move on the tribrid hybrid IEM when paired with a warm source like the OTL tube amp. For the inverse — taming sharp treble — see narrow-bore tips.
